Procedure: From Registration to Completion of the Internship

The registration must take place before the start of the internship using the corresponding form Formular VWL Praktika.pdf (PDF, 20KB), which must be submitted to the Department Secretariat of Economics.

Important: Without timely registration of the internship, no credit transfer can be granted!

The following documents must be submitted:

  • Transcript of grades from the introductory studies

  • Short description of the planned internship tasks

Requirements for the internship to be eligible for credit towards the BA in Economics:

  • The minimum duration of the internship is 12 weeks at a full-time workload.
    A workload of at least 50 % is required, with a corresponding extension of the internship duration.

  • The internship must have a clear relevance to economics.

The Department Secretariat reviews the submitted information and documents and issues a written approval.
The internship is then carried out.

After completing the internship, a report of 2–3 pages must be submitted to the Department Secretariat.
The report should include the following information:

  • Name and address of the employer

  • Duration of the internship

  • Workload percentage

  • Description of the work performed

  • Confirmation and signature of the employer

The report must be written in continuous prose (no mere bullet points or keywords).

The ECTS credits earned through the internship are listed under the category “Internship” on the transcript of records.

Please note once again that no credit recognition can be granted without timely registration of the internship.
