BEE Workshop 2021

Workshop on Energy & Environmental Economics Bern

Bern Energy Economics Workshop

25 - 26 August 2021, University of Bern, Switzerland

Workshop description

The Bern Energy Economics Workshop discusses recent developments in the field of energy economics. Climate change and the current ambitious country strategies to reach net zero emissions by 2050 call for an overhaul of energy markets and systems. This workshop will discuss efficient decarbonisation policies in the transport, building or industry sector, environmental protection, the role of energy related consumer behaviour, energy market regulation for smart energy systems or efficient market designs for high shares of renewables. The redistributional implications of different policies are also considered. The focus is on both theoretical and empirical research.
