Topics: Macroeconomics, empirical macroeconomics, international macroeconomics. Both empirical and theoretical theses are welcome. Possible approaches and tools include, among others, Heterogeneous Agent New Keynesian (HANK) models as well as high-frequency monetary policy shocks and identification strategies.
Requirements: There are no formal requirements. Attending the following courses is recommended: BA International Financial Markets and Cryptocurrencies, BA Economics with the Computer, MA Quantitative Macroeconomics.
Procedure: Topic selection in consultation with the supervisor, followed by a literature review and the formulation of the research question and methodology. The analysis is conducted under supervision with regular progress meetings. The thesis is submitted in accordance with departmental guidelines and assessed with written feedback.
Oral examination: No formal examination. The evaluation is based primarily on the written thesis. Several meetings take place during the writing process, allowing students to clarify their approach, defend their results, and demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
