Work Package 4.2 of NCCR Climate (Nationaler Forschungsschwerpunkt Klima)
Research Proposal
The project is a new addition to the WP4 in Phase 2 of NCCR Climate. The main research questions addressed are: How does climate change - both in terms of market and non-market damages - affect economic growth, structure and distribution of income? How do capital flows and migration as a result of climate change affect regional economies? How do changes in risk assessment of climate disruption affect economic response to these risks, and what are the appropriate instruments of risk allocation? An Integrated Assessment Model that comprises three major modules addresses these issues. The first module relates annual carbon emissions to changes in regional mean temperatures. The second module translates the changes in mean temperature into sectoral productivity impacts. Together these two modules form a climate-impact model. The last module is a dynamic general equilibrium model.
